"We're going to talk about lighting for your monitor whether if your monitors in a 10 gallon tank or whether it's in a custom enclosure it's going to need some sort of lighting. Usually they have 12 hours of light on and 12 hours of no light they need some night time. At night they should still have heat so you are going to run your heat pad at night during the day they need to run light. These are monitors that don't necessarily need UVA as well as UVB but if it's possible it's always something you want to provide. So this is a lot of light that simulates the sun this gives out UVA as well as UVB and I find that it makes their appetite a little bit better, it stimulates their appetite. You can also use a florescent light and the florescent light will give off UVA as well as UVB but it does not give off any heat. At night if your house is cool you can get a screw in red bulb that gives off heat and they also have ceramic heat admitors and all that stuff is available online. You can check regalreptiles.com or you can come visit your local pet store or even better if you have a local store that specializes in just reptiles that is a good way to go as well."
