"Heat is very important for all monitor lizards. If they are not properly temperature they are going to get sick really easy and a sick monitor is very difficult to fix. The best thing to do is to heat them properly to begin with so he doesn't get sick this is a heating pad and for your small monitor for babies in your 10 gallon tank this heating pad will cover about half of the tank. You are going to stick it underneath the tank you are going to plug it in and it's going to keep the bottom half of the tank nice and warm and the monitors will actually barrow down into the heat. Now you can also get ceramic heating admitors, you can get inferred heat admitors, and you can put a clamp lamp on top of the tank and that will radiate some extra heat down. These guys here you can you leave the screen open to breath some air and they are going to get warm and go where they need to-to get the heat they will come on the hot side. When they start to get warm they will come away from the heat to get away from that. And your bigger animals you are going to use a larger heat pad you might even use two of these if you do a whole room you are going to have to get what are called a big blanket. Which is about 4 times as the size of this an it's fairly waterproof you can put it right in the room and plug it in, you can also do ceramic heaters or also portable space heaters which you have to keep very safe for the animal doesn't knock them over."
