Hi on behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm Shelly here at AA Callister at Salt Lake City, Utah and I would like to show you one of the closed front styles of winter horse blankets. Now closed front styles is just like it sounds like. It has been sewn closed in the front. There are no buckles open and this one is going to be almost like a turtle neck sweater for a person that has to go on over their neck and then be pulled back. Some people do not prefer a closed front blanket because it has to go on over the horse's head and some horse's become frightened so please take that into consideration when you are purchasing a closed front blanket that it might spook your horse the first couple of times that you would want to put it on and take it off. After a while, they will get used to it but at first they are going to be head shy and you just really need to be patient with them about that. So a closed front blanket we are just going to slide it on over their muzzle and it has to go up over their ears and then we can just flip it around and just goes on, just like that. Now the nice thing about a closed front blanket is you don't have to worry about the buckles coming undone and your horse walking out of its blanket. You don't have to worry about them breaking or having another horse pull and rip them off because you know how horses are out in the pasture, if there is something to play with, they will. So with a closed front blanket you don't have to worry ab out any straps or buckles up in the front but you do need to take into consideration your horse's attitude when having things put over their head, eyes and ears.
