Purchasing an Open Front Horse Blankets

Now winter horse blankets come in two styles; open front and closed front. We will talk about closed front a little bit later but let me show you an open front blanket. An open front blanket is just what it sounds like, like it opens in the front. Usually they will have buckles or straps. This one has a couple of buckles and also has Velcro behind it just for added security. You want to think of an open front blanket almost as a jacket for a person that you put on one side and then the other. So that is what an open front blanket is. It opens in the front. Some people prefer open front blankets because their horse does not like a blanket pulled on over his head which we will show you that happens with a closed front blanket. It is just a little easier to get on and off. Some people feel it is totally a preference for the horse and the rider. The most important preference is going to be the horse obviously because he is the one that is going to have it drug on and off his head if you get the closed front. But this is open front here. They have different kinds of buckles or Velcro. And this one over here, let me grab this. This is also an open front blanket. This one doesn't have any Velcro but it does have just two of the cinches here and we will just thread these through."
