"Hi, on behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm Shelly here at AA Callister in Salt Lake City, Utah and I would like to show you how to measure your horse for a winter horse blanket. Now the correct way to measure your horse is that you will probably need 2 people. We are going to take a measuring tape and we need to go from the center of his chest, his or her chest right here in the middle. You are going to want to come around the widest part of her shoulders and the widest part of their barrel. So we will just keep moving down his body. We are going to come around his hips and flank all the way around to the back of his tail. We go about to the middle of the back of his tail and if you can see, Rudy here measures an 80. So we are looking at about an 80 on Rudy. Now if you horse is an odd number, say he came out to be a 81 or a 79, you would probably want to go up to the next size. So you just bump up to the next even number. Here in the United States the blankets usually come in even numbers like 72, 74, 76, 78 and so on. So if your horse is an odd number, go up one inch more to the next size. So that is how we are going to measure our horse for a winter horse blanket. "
