"Now, when you're sexing your Box Turtle it's fairly simple. If they're adults it's easy for you to just look by, look and see what sex they are. Males definitely are larger than the females, in all species of Box Turtles. Now another way to sex your Box Turtle is to just go ahead and take a look at the underside here. The males have a where, if you can see this hinge, where this meets right here, it'll be more concave. This is a female so she's a little flat right here. But in a male this will be concave, which means it will dent in a little bit. She doesn't feel comfortable in this position, but it will dent in a little bit right here in the males. The exception to this rule is the Ornate in which all, or males and females have flat under shells here. Now another way is to look at the base of the tail. If you take a look at her tail here, she's fairly narrow at the base which is with the tail extended where it meets the body. This is fairly narrow. In a male this would be a little larger."
