"Well first I took the sand out using a big scoop and dumped the most part of it into the trash can. And then I vacuumed the majority of what was leftover with the shop vac. I used my scraper here to remove what was stuck on the bottom and the sides and then I did a final vacuuming. It didn't take long at all, the shop vacs are very convenient for projects like this. And it's very important that I got all of the substrate out because any of it can be contaminated with whatever caused his illness. So I need to make sure that this is complete. What I'm going to do now is I'm going to now is clean out the inside and that's going to involve using a variety of different things. I like to use this wipe out. What it is it's a specifically made for disinfecting small animal cages and terrariums. This is the cleaner I usually use in most of my terrariums. In this case I'm going to use this and then after I'm done using this I'm going to let it, I'm going to spray some bleach solution in there so that I can make sure anything live and infectious inside of this tank is completely removed. And that's very important for me especially after the bearded dragon has suffered such an illness because his immune system has been lowered. So I need to make sure he's still in safe conditions. Now I'm just using a clean dry rag here. I use these rags specifically for my reptiles and nothing else so these ones are sure to be cleaned after each use. Now when you are cleaning out your terrariums especially after an illness you want to make sure that you get even the cracks and crevices along the top even the outside. Now I, it doesn't seem like these, any type of bacterias or whatever the bearded dragon is carrying could get on the outside of the tank unless he's had contact with it but that's not necessarily true. Somethings are carried through the air, so you just want to make sure that you are able, that you wipe the rim of the tank and also the outside areas."
