"Now what I'm going to do is I'm going to put these gages in here. These are a temperature gage and a humidity gage and it's all in one unit so that I'm able to monitor his levels here in his terrarium and that's pretty important to me because I like, I need to know what his basking area is and what the overall temperature of his cage is to make sure that he's got the proper conditions. I like this type because it has the Velcro on back, so I'm able to just kind of stick it right about here. I'm going to put it midway to the ground towards the basking side, so that I'm able to make sure that his basking area temperatures are within the required limits. This is the desert animal, he requires very low levels of humidity, so that's the purpose of this humidity gage. I need to be able to ensure that his humidity levels do not get up to high. Spilled water can raise humidity levels inside of a terrarium very quickly and this is what I put on top. It's fully ventilated, so this allows for and obviously it keeps the smell down and it also allows me to set lights, dome lights, directly on top of here. The screen is made out of metal, so it's heat resistant. This is where I'll be keeping all of my dome lights on top of the cage here. Now that we've got the top cleaned off and set on top here, like I said this is metal, so my dome lights or reflector dome can sit right on top here. I've got the bulbs inside. This is a basking light, so I'm going to set it right there and then the infrared night heat and then I've got the strip light here which runs just along the back."
