"Bearded Dragons go through six life stages that you need to know about in order to properly care for them. I've seen many sources that say the six life stages are, they help you to understand why they need what they need and when they need it. The first stage would be pre-birth. That is well, 55 to 75 days. That's how long it lasts. It occurs in the egg, this is during the incubating time whether it's with the parents, but most likely, with the Bearded Dragon you have purchased, the eggs were incubated but even though the eggs are incubated, diet of the mother and mother's health and living conditions have a very large impact on the health of the baby Bearded Dragon inside the egg. The next stage, stage two is called hatchling. That is from birth to eight inches long. This is a period where they have very, very huge appetites. This stage is all about eating and growing. They have very, they are very ravenous. They will eat as much as you'll let them. Although I've heard from several different sources that juveniles such as this one, should be fed as much as they'll eat. This is because they are undergoing a huge amount of growth during this period in their life and this, they are actually probably tripling or quadrupling their size in a very short period of time. So this is why they need, that much food, that fast, it's going through them like you wouldn't believe. During this stage in life they also may show some aggression, such as, arm waving. If you see your Bearded Dragon and he looks like he's waving at you, this is something that is an identifying factor. They do this to show who they are and they'll also show a little bit of aggression towards each other to establish rank in the colony."
