" On behalf of Expert Village I'm Nicole. Each different animal is going to require different types of bedding. If you have a desert dwelling animal that you need to keep in a glass aquarium of some sort you can use the house of sand. This is something that I like to use for my desert dwelling animals, it's a calcium sub straight that is actually editable. So if an animal actually accidentally digest some of it it's not going to be harmful. Another type of bedding would be the jungle earth I use this on any type of tropical animal that I use or that I house. I like this because it stays moist, it retains moisture really well, it has easy clean up and it's easy to. It's very good for mimicking the environment that the animals are naturally from. Another type of bedding I like to use for my rodent type animals would be the aspen shavings. I like the aspen better than the cedar cause it's more absorbent and easier to spot clean. It does get thrown around a little bit but it's not but it absorbs very well. I also like to use these aspen pellets it's actually a pellet bedding so it's a lot more easier to clean up. It's biodegradable you can flush it, you can just scoop it out with a litter scooper and throw it in the toilet and it's completely flushable. This can be used for so many different types of animals I use it for my Pharrat you can use it for rabbits, you can use it on birds. Another type of bedding that is good for birds would be Kaycob which is crushed up corn husk or not corn husk corn cobs, that works really well for birds. Another type of bedding I use on my snakes would be aspen bedding you can't really use a lot of wood based bedding for snakes but the aspen bedding is okay. It's great, it doesn't have much dust to it so it doesn't cause any respiratory problems and it's good for the corn snake types and the snakes that are native to a tropical area."
