"Bearded Dragons are a perfect reptile for beginners. If you are interested in purchasing a reptile but you haven't had one yet, I think a Bearded Dragon would be a good choice. They're very hardy, they're easy to maintain. As long as you have an understanding of their needs then they're fairly easy lizards to keep. They originated in Australia, where it's very hot, very dry and arid, so they like the desert temperatures. Arizona is a good place to have a Bearded Dragon because the humidity levels here don't get very high and that's perfect for these little guys. They're naturally tame. They have great personalities. They're very active. They're just entertaining to watch. The most common type of Bearded Dragon you find in the pet store today is called an Inland Bearded Dragon. There are other types bred but they're rarely ever available for sale in the pet trade. The most common type you're going to find is definitely the Inland. Before purchasing a Bearded Dragon there are a few things you might want to consider. They do grow pretty large and I think that you're going to need an aquarium that's at least three feet long or some sort or terrarium that size. You need to have a space readily available for a large cage. You also need to be prepared for daily cleanings. You want to make sure that you pick out their stools everyday out of their cages because it's something that they often do in their food dish. Now, that's very common with Bearded Dragons and that's something that you'll want to go and bleach out. It's also, they're also animals that prefer live feeding. They eat mainly insects and vegetables but you need to be prepared to feed live prey to the Bearded Dragons."

on 8/25/2008 3 feet terrarium? wtf?
A Bearded Dragon should have at least a terrarium 3 times its own lenght - it`s a relatively big reptile, and they`re very active creatures - that means they need a terrarium that is at least 5 feet long and 2 feet wide..
