"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Nicole and I'm here to tell you about king snakes. In your snakes terrarium you can use several different types of sub straight it is not very important that you have one that holds moisture very well seeing as king snakes don't require high levels of humidity. You can usually use something such as aspen shavings or recycled newspaper shreds or even bark or soil of some sort will be just fine. Now inside of their home you need to provide a hide cave is somewhere you they need to retreat to cool off so the hide cave does need to kept on the opposite side of the heat light if you do have one. It also needs to have climbing sticks things for it to play in, places to hide maybe a pile of stones or a thick bush inside of their cave, obviously fake. You want to use a plastic bush they are easy to clean off and they don't get eaten by accident. You always want to provide fresh water for your snake they will often lye in it especially if it's coming around time to shed their skin. Because they need to moisture in their skin so that it comes off in one solid piece. Now fresh water is very important so make sure you change it daily because this is water that they will be drinking and taking and bathing in. So you don't want them to bath in the same water that they are drinking from make sure you change it on regular bases."
