" Hi! My name is Richard Reavis. I am co-owner of Black Jungle Terrarium Supply and on behalf of expertvillage.com, we are discussing the finer points of feeding and supplementing poison dart frogs. To start off with we are going to cover several of the different food items that are available for use. For most keepers, the most common and readily available food item is the flightless fruit fly. They are easily kept inbred and can make up a large percentage if not the entire diet as long as they are supplemented well. There are two basic species that are normally propagated: one is the Jasopholomolanigaster shown here and there is also a second larger species Jasopholaheidiai. Both of them are flightless and are suitable for virtually any of the adult dark frogs although some smaller species in young animals typically are fed the melanogaster. The cultural of fruit flies is also alternatively relatively simple and is even discussed in detail in another series, a video segment available right here on expertvillage.com. "
