"Hi! My name is Sarah. I work at Extra Care Animal Hospital; I am one of the technicians there. I am here at Petland in Pembroke Pines today to tell you a little bit about hamster care on behalf of Expert Village.com. Several types of cages are available with are suitable for hamsters. Many of these cages come already equipped with things such as shelving, bowls, exercise wheels and hide boxes. An appropriate hamster cage should have a solid bottom and should have a depth sufficient on the bottom of it that you can put your bedding in, which should be usually a dustless recycled newspaper product. And you want to make sure when you put it in that it is a sufficient depth, so that your hamster can burrow in it. It is very important for their psychological well-being. They need to feel secure in their environment. It is very important not to use cedar chips or wood chips as these can cause liver problems and also cause respiratory problems. Other things you can buy to put in your hamster cage include hide boxes and chew toys. Hide boxes are good because they give your hamster a place to hide and feel secure. If you would like any more information about the animal hospital that I work at, you can go to www.extracareanimal hospital.net, and if you would like anymore information about Petland in Pembroke Pines, you can go to www.petland.com."
