You should always wash these before offering then to your guinea pig to make sure that you get any pesticide or any other residues off of them. Green leafy vegetables you can offer your guinea pig include kale, green leaf lettuce, any of your dark leafy greens. You want to avoid things like iceberg lettuce, as they just do not offer a lot of nutrition for your guinea pig. You want to stay away from things like onions, chives or anything in the onion family, as they can be toxic. Another important part of your guinea pig’s diet is a good quality pellet formulated specifically for guinea pigs. You want to make sure that it is timothy based pellet, and you want to make sure that it has vitamin C in it.
