"Hi! My name is Sarah I am coming to you today from Pet Land in Pembroke Pines, Florida and on behalf of expertvillage.com. I am going to speak with you a little bit about choosing a pet snake. Another suitable choice for a first time snake owner would be a king snake such as the one I am holding here. King snakes stay about the same size depending on the species and about the same size as the rat snakes and corn snakes that I have mentioned. Another consideration you should have before purchasing a king snake is if you are going to have other snakes in the same household. King snakes in the wild are predatory upon other snake species. Therefore it is very stressful for other snakes to be housed in the same room as a king snake as they will be able to pick up on the pheromones or scent of the other snake and can find it very, very stressful.
