"Hi, my name is Sarah, I’m here at Pet Land in Pembroke Pines tonight, and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I’m going to speak with you a little bit about purchasing and owning a pet turtle. One thing to consider when you are looking into getting a turtle is the cost that will be incurred of owning a turtle. One considerable expense could be the actual turtle itself. It could run anywhere from $10 to hundreds of dollars, depending on how exotic the species of turtle is that you choose. Other considerations would be housing, lighting, veterinary care and the different aspects of the turtle’s care. When it comes to housing, your housing expenses can be anywhere from approximately $50 dollars to anywhere up to several 100 dollars. You need to understand that while you may have spent a small amount on your turtle, you will spend a much larger sum setting up the proper habitat for your turtle. Other things you need to think about are veterinary care which… veterinarians that see reptiles many times have been through specialized training, which means that the cost of the veterinary care of turtles, even though they may be less expensive than dogs and cats, is just as expensive as that of dogs and cats. Other things to consider are feeding. You need to be prepared to properly feed your turtle. One of the most common problems that turtles are seen for by veterinarians is malnutrition. There are a number of different problems that can result from poor nutrition in turtles so you need to be prepared to properly feed your turtles. These are all things that you should consider financially when you are thinking about getting a pet turtle. On behalf of expertvillage.com, I would like to thank you for letting me speak to you about your pet turtle.
