"Hi, my name is Sarah, I’m here at Pet Land in Pembroke Pines tonight, and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I’m going to speak with you a little bit about purchasing and owning a pet turtle. When you’re looking to purchase or adopt a turtle, you can check with a reptile rescue organizations in your area, and they may know of someone that has turtles that are in need of good homes. You can also check with wildlife rescue organizations in your area, they may sometimes have non-native species that are in need of good homes. One other place that you can look into on getting a turtle at are local pet stores, they should have a larger sized turtles available for sale. If they have smaller sized turtles, that is illegal, although sometimes pet stores will sell smaller sized turtles under the premise that those turtles are supposed to be used for research or educational purposes only. It is generally recommended that you get a larger sized turtle that is anywhere from 3-4 inches large, because the smaller turtles tend to be much more stressed out and tend to be more prone to disease and illness. So once again, it is very important that you get a larger sized turtle when you are looking to obtain a pet turtle. On behalf of expertvillage.com, I would like to thank you for letting me speak to you about your pet turtle.
