" Hi! My name is Sarah, I’m at Petland in Pembroke Pines, Florida tonight and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I’m going to speak with you a little bit about caring for mice. Other things that you need to get for the cage would be water bottle such as this one, a small wheel, and you want to make sure that the wheel that you get is solid. You do not want to get a wire wheel because with wire wheels the mice can get their feet caught, potentially injure themselves, and even break a leg. You also want a food bowl, something that’s easy to clean. The one in this cage happens to be plastic. You can also get ceramic. One more important thing for your mouse’s cage would be a small hide box. Mice need visual security, something they can go in, hide, and kind of feel safe in. It can be something plastic or ceramic. If you choose to go with wood, you should plan on getting rid of that hide box every 2 to 3 months, as wood hide boxes can absorb moisture and in time end up getting moldy or have bacteria. "
