on 8/2/2008 I get all my rodents from feeder tanks, except hamsters. The only problem with feeder animals is that they aren't socialized and they can have a lot of health issues, and unless your petstore seperates males and females, fi you choose a female, you could end up with a lot of babies. I liek to get them from a feeder tank, because even though there aren't any rodent rescues around my area, I can feel as if I am saving his life, which I really am, because if I hadn't have picked him or her out, the next person to look at him or her could be feeding him or her to their pet snake, so I really am saving it's life, It makes me feel a lot better about owning it. Even if it does die early from a condition it has from being produced poorly, I know that in it's short life, I gave it a whole heck of a better life than it would have had without me.
