"Hello my name is Sarah Stetner. I am an expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village, and in this video I'm just showing you the different types of bits, and I've just showed you the standard snaffle. This is kind of a more severe snaffle; it does have more contact in the horse's mouth. This is called the twisted wire snaffle. There is two kinds of twisted wire snaffles, but this is the one that I use. There is like it is called a egg butt snaffle, twisted wire and the rings come out a little bit. Little bit further up and down as they do this is just a regular twisted wire snaffle, and as you can see the tongue of the horse goes right here. So the twisted wire is a little more severe on the mouth. Gives you more contact. This is a good bit to use right after training your second—or maybe during training to you—but your second bit for sure would be twisted wire snaffle. It gives you more contact to the horse's mouth. So that is the twisted wire snaffle because it is twisted."
