"Okay so we have our sand boa. We've got our cage all set up. Our heating set up. We've gone over the prey items and how to feed the sand boa. So the last thing we're going to talk about really quick here is handling your sand boa. As you can see sand boas are not a fast snake by any stretch of the imagination. They're relatively relaxed and slow. There's not a whole lot to handling them. Kind of let them do what they're doing. Give them an open hand to move around on. And make sure they're not going to fall off of you. The other thing I want to talk about just very briefly is listening to your sand boa. I know they can't talk but they do speak to us n their own ways with their behavior and how they move around inside their aquarium or cage and it's important that on a daily basis you watch that and keep note of it. Watch for odd things going on that seem a little unusual or out of the ordinary. The snake could be trying to tell you certain things. Like if she's spending all of her time on the hottest section of the enclosure she's trying to tell you that she's not hot enough. And if she's spending all of her time on the coldest area of the enclosure she's telling you that it's much too hot inside. Various things like that you should keep your eye out for while enjoying your sand boa. Part of the fun of keeping these amazing animals is watching their everyday movements. So take the time every day, sit down and watch and enjoy."
