"So what we're going to do is we're going to take our fuzzy here that I've got in my hand and we're going to plop it in a little cup of hot water, and let that sit for awhile. That hot water is going to thaw your fuzzy out. You don't want to microwave a fuzzy or anything like that. Trust me, it's a messy business, and you don't want to be the one to have to clean it up. Your best and safest way to do this is to use the hot water. Now, while you're doing this you need to make sure that the fuzzy is thawed all the way through when you're done. It can take a little while depending on how big the house is that you're feeding off. This guy will probably take us a few minutes to thaw out properly. He should be squishy when he's all done, except for in the skull which should still be hard. I know, it's gross handling a dead mouse, but get used to it and it's no different than playing with hamburger meat. So, we're going to let that sit there and thaw for a second, and while we do that we're going to talk about another aspect of the sand boa which can be a little bit tricky. Sometimes if you have a male sand boa, they have a tendency to go off food. They can be a little hard to feed. And what that pretty much is is the male sand boas, once they get to such a maturity, tend to shift priorities. They don't want to eat so much, they want to breath. So, sometimes you have to go to live food. And personally I've found that live rat pinkies tend to get the best reaction out of the male sand boas. So, be aware of that when you're looking at your sand boas, and choosing the right one. If you can, get a female. It's going to be a lot bigger, and it's going to be easier to feed in the long run. And we're going to get to feeding here in just a second, as soon as this guy's done being thawed out."
