Crickets for Crested Geckos

"The other half of your crescent geckos diet is going to be insects. So, the staple of that will probably be crickets. You want to make sure you're buying crickets that are roughly the space, roughly the size of the space between his eyes, on top of his head. Not too much bigger than that and you probably don't need to be feeding him any more than two or three of, a day, at the most. Again, when you're buying any feeder insect, what it's being fed is what makes it nutritious, so, make sure that the store you're buying it from is properly feeding its crickets and if not, then you may have to take into account, gut loading them yourself and buying a cricket diet to feed the crickets before feeding your reptile. There are other options too, that you can use as treats on occasion, such as wax worms, which are a grub like little critter, they are very high in fat though, so use them as a treat more than anything, be sparing with them. You can also on occasion, offer meal worms, you want the tiny little variety, just your everyday meal worm. And, you might, you might squish the head before you give it to him, just as a precaution. Meal worms have been known to nip and nibble a little bit, and you don't necessarily want any of that happening to your reptile. So, again make sure your crickets are being fed a proper diet, before you feed them to your crescent gecko, it's very important! Without the proper nutrition in the feeder insect your reptile is not going to get the proper nutrition. And, worms as a special treat, is never a bad idea."
