"So we're going to take this moss and we're going to mix it in, nice and good, with all the rest of the substrate. You want to get a nice kind of, maybe twenty-five percent to seventy-five percent mixture. Twenty-five percent moss, seventy-five percent your other substrate. What that's going to do is, that's going to hold humidity, even better. It's going to give you strong little pockets of humidity, throughout your bedding on your enclosure. Now, we are talking about a lot of moisture, in this enclosure, so it's not necessarily a bad idea to maybe plan for a little bit of drainage. What's drainage? Well before you lay any of your substrate down, you can take large gravel, like out of an aquarium store, they're usually called river pebbles, they're relatively large, and you're going to lay about an inch of that, in the bottom of the aquarium. Usually just enough to reach the top black lip and then you're going to go out and you're going to get some screen, just like you would get to repair a screen door. You're going to cut it to the same size footprint, as your aquarium, and you're going to lay that screening in between the rock and where you're going to put the substrate. What that's going to do is it's going to create an area where excess water can drain down into the rocks but it won't allow your substrate, to mix with the rocks. You won't get as much bacteria and/or mold growth. I recommend a good drainage for any humidity cage, be it a crested gecko or a frog cage or any such thing, it's going to just help you overall health of your reptile and help cut down on any bacteria's and/or molds that might grow on your, otherwise, moist bedding."
