"The next thing that we're going to talk about now that we have our turtle and we have our cage is we really need to talk about heating. Now this particular kind of turtle is what we like to call semi aquatic or an aquatic turtle. They do like to spend a lot of time in the water, in fact they spend most of their time in the water. So we have that added problem for heating as well. We're going to need to have heat lamps as well as a heater for the water. So generally what I'm going to recommend is, you want to get yourself a nice heater. Make sure it is a, you don't want a glass heater, you want something that's going to be shatter proof. See it says right here it's shatter proof and made out of thermal plastic. That's what we're looking for. Turtles are very very rough on the terrain in the aquarium and that's where this goes. It goes right inside the water on the bottom. So they can break regular, fish heaters, fairly easily. So make sure you get a thermal plastic one or one that says it's shatter proof or something like that. As far as the size goes, buy it a size that's going to do the size tank you have. In other words if you got a 40 gallon tank get one that's going to do 40 gallons of water. I know we're not filling the whole thing but the more the merrier. So you're going to take that heater and you're going to put it in the back of the aquarium , okay you're going put it, lets say we're going to put it on the left hand side. The far back on the left hand side, the suction cups to the back. Then you're going to get yourself a piece of rock or slate that's going to sit over it and that's going to cover it up so you can't see it. Now that's going to heat the water, that's going to heat the water and it's going to put it to, you're going to want to set it to somewhere around 75 to 78 degrees."
