"The next thing we're going to talk about is desert versus tropical enclosures. Now, both the bearded dragon and the leopard gecko come from arid, desert-like areas, so you're looking at a drier enclosure. Something that's--you're not going to have to worry about humidity so much. There won't be as much daily misting, or fussing about keeping your substrate moist or damp. Of course, you do still need to provide them with fresh and clean water daily, and with baby bearded dragons, you need to mist them daily in the morning. But on a day-to-day basis, for an adult leopard gecko or bearded dragon you're not worrying so much about the humidity and things like that in the enclosure. Now you do have to worry about things like heat a little bit more. You'll be providing more heat for these animals than say, the crested gecko which comes from a tropical environment. We'll get to that in a second. You're probably looking at temperatures anywhere between the ninety-five to a hundred and ten for hot spots, for the bearded dragon and the leopard gecko, so your power bill will be a little bit more expensive, taking care of the leopard gecko and the bearded dragon versus the crested gecko, which is tropical, which we'll get to right now."
