"CHRISTIE OWNES: Hi. My name is Christie and I'm with Expert Village and I'm teaching you proper care of fish today and a little bit about the different types of fish. And now we're going to talk about an African tetra that I have in the tank as well. African tetras originate from Africa and they are also a schooling fish and like to be in big schools of at least twelve or more. They're also a community fish as well and they like to be anywhere between 75 to 80 degree water temperature as well as the other fish that like to have a well-planted tank, pieces of driftwood, and hiding places. The African tetras are the little guys in here that you see that are the silver with a little black line down on the side of them who are just swimming all over the tank crazily. For some reason they like to do that, they're very hyperactive fish. Very aggressive feeders when I feed, so when I feed the fish in the tank I have to make sure I put a little bit of extra in theirs so everybody else can get their share as well. If I don't, they hog all the food and everybody doesn't get a chance to eat. Very nice fish, once they get bigger, they change a little bit of color to where they get a little bit of red above their eye and a well as above the tip of their tails."
