"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to properaly bridle your horse with a English bridle. So in conclusion when you are bridling your horse to ride English, you want to make sure that horse would stand when you are putting on the bridle. If not, you can always slip the halter around their necks that you can tie them so you have a little bit better control. You want to put the reins around their neck first so they would not get tangled in them or break their reins. You are going to pull the bit through the horses mouth. There is many different kinds of bits that you can use, so you can use. So gaged on how soft or hard your horses mouth is and how much control you need, would lead you what direction you need to go with what kind of bit. So after you put the pull in the bit and pull it up over the ears, you want to make sure that you adjust your nose band and your throat latch properly for your horse. Lastly you want to make sure that your bit is sitting properly in the horses mouth to ensure that the horse is comfortable, that the bit is not hitting the horses teeth and also too that you have the right amount of control over your horse in order to ride. So these are the steps that you would want to take to bridling your horse to ride English."
