"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to properly bridle your horse with a English bridle. Now that we have the bit on the horses mouth and we have the bridle pulled up over the ears, we are going to adjust our nose band. So the first thing you want to do is take a look of your cheek pieces. You want to make sure that your nose band fits your horse in the proper place. So it should be a couple of inches above the nostril. You don't want it all over up her or you don't want it too low. So this is about in the right place for her. So I'm going to take it and there is a buckle that goes under the chin, turn her head a little bit this way. So you can see so we are going to pull it through and we are going to tighten it. You don't want too tight. You want to be able to fit about 2 fingers in there. You don't want it too tight applying too much pressure onto her nose. You just want to pull it through so your bridle would not come undone while you are riding it. If you do have to adjust it, there are these little buckles here on your cheeks pieces which you can move up or down. So if you need it to bring your nose band up a little bit or put it down a little bit you are able to do so. So that is how you would want to adjust the nose band. This also where a martingale if you have a horse that jumps or have a horse that needs a little bit more control. A martingale attaches to the nose band and attaches to the girth onto the saddle and this would give you a little bit more control. So where you buckle up is also where you want to attach your martingale if you are using one."
