"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to properly bridle your horse with a English bridle. So now we are ready to put our bit in our horses mouth. So we are going to take off her halter. I'm just going to toss this off to the side here. So we are going to hold her head over our right shoulder. We are going to take the crown piece of her bridle in our right hand, we are going to take the bit in our left. We are going to hold it up to her mouth, put into her teeth and slide it through her mouth. Now if she did not like to take the bit, we could kind of stick our thumb there in the corner of her mouth and give her a little tickle on her tongue. That would help her open her mouth. Some horses are really stubborn at it so you might have to really work with them a lot to get them more accepting of the bit. But those are a couple of techniques that you can use to have your horse to be more accepting of the bit."
