"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you my tips and techniques to properly bridle your horse with a English bridle. So when you go to put your bridle on your horse, you want to approach your horse from the left side. You are going to take your right hand and put it around their head. So that you have their head over your right shoulder. So this would give you a little bit better control of your horse, give them a little less room to escape. Again you do have the reins around the neck, so you have a little bit better control over them or if you have a horse that does not like being bridle or tends to wonder off, you can use the halter over the neck technique to give you a little bit better control and keep them tied. So they are unable to wonder off or escape you trying to put the bit in their mouth. But if you have a horse that stands willingly and is accepting of the bit and of the bridle, you can just put their head over your right shoulder and just gently holds their head, their nose with the right hand. So this would give you a lot better control so you they would be able to take the bridle. So that is how you want to hold the head when you are preparing the bridle of your horse."
