"This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. Today for our purpose of our demonstration on how to make a backpack for a little girl. We have already assemble the front and back. We have trimmed it. We added D rings to the bottom to give us a place for the cord to go through. The casing was sewn at the very top. I have already inserted a length of cord all the way through the top part/the front part of the casing onto the back part of the casing and out the other side. Now what I need to do is insert the other cord into this side of the casing and I would come back out the other side so we would be able to draw the cord from either side. I put a pin on the end of it. On the end of the cord and it makes it a little bit easier, much easier in matter of fact to draw the cord through the casing. So I would just gradually inch the cord through. Like this. Eventually it would come out the other side like that and we would put it back through the other side of the casing. Squeeze it through little by little until gradually it comes out the other side. So we have drawstrings that would eventually work as a nice little drawstring top for the little backpack. That is how you insert the cord through the casing. "
