"Hi! My name is Vincent Sansone. I am the Head of the Ceramics Department here at Crealde School of Art here in Winter Park. Today for Expert Village I am going to show you how to mix a glaze properly. What you need to do is to make sure that all of the chemicals in the glaze are mixed up completely and are in suspension. So if a glaze has been sitting for a few days it is going to be real watery on the top of it and real thick at the bottom. So you have to mix this up completely and the only way that you can tell it is mixed completely is if you actually stick your hand in the bucket; feel where the lumps are. Some glazes settle out more quickly than others and take a lot more time to remix, but this one is in pretty good shape. When I am done mixing it, the glaze should fit my hand like a glove. Okay, so that looks about right there."
