"A lot of times we do special made cabinets and we do some of the doors. In this case, this is an owl that we have carved into one of the doors and I have gone in with a wood burning tool and have started highlighting. Now as you can see on the feathers and all and his ruff coming down to here that the wood burning tool has actually etched into it and we have formed a texture across here. Now a lot of times the texture you can really see well if you go to any local wood carving shows typically duck shows. They will go in there and use the tool to actually texture the bird. This is one of the big advantages that you can use a wood burning tool for. This is what I am working on for a friend of mine up. We have carved the feathers in I have actually gone in with a wood burner and put a texture in there of the feathers themselves, each individual feather. Also, if you see the head how we gone through and put the lines in and have actually gone through and painted over it. A wood burning tool is a good compliment when used with this type of carving. Wood burning works very well in a multi media. This particular case it is going to get a door on the cabinet using a stained glass background. A hand carved figure of pelican birds that we are working on right now and if you have noticed I have used wood burning to go in and put the texturing into this. Another cabinet door that we are working on right now is also for mixed media. The colors the people wanted are bright and what we are doing is going in there, hand carves this, go in and add this into the door. The reason I am bring this up again is used to texture the bird has been used with a wood burning tool. As you can a wood burning tool has many uses in different things. It is a wonderful tool when it comes to doing a multi media type work "
