Adding a Panda Face Purse Closure

"For our next step we need to add a closure to the top of our purse. I have a button that I'm going to add to the back of the purse and we're going to add a loop closure for that. So take the same color thread as the background fabric on the purse. So in this case, on the panda, it's white. I'm going to go all the way through the back and come up on the button and just sew the button on in the middle of the bag to the back of the fabric. And sew it securely on there because this is what's going to be able to close your purse. Sew an "x" across the button diagonally, side to side and that'll make for a stronger closure on your button. Next we're going to make the loop for your closure. Take some embroidery thread. This time I've matched it to may background, it's white. I'm going to go through the top part. I'm not going to go through the first layer. I'm just going to go through the second layer on the inside of the bag. I have a knot on it and I'm just going to go through this once so it's secure. Then I'm going to make a loop. And you can test it by putting it around the button and then coming back out. And that's how big my loop needs to be. So I'm going to hold that with my finger, right where it needs to be, and I'm going to go back through. And I'm going to hold it with my finger so it doesn't go any farther. And then I'm just going to go through this a couple times, just like that, make that secure. I think that's secure. And then I'm going to make a knot on it. And there's my loop. Cut the thread and you're done. And then that loops around that button nicely for a closure."
