Making an Animal Face Purse Strap

"I'm going to show you now how to make the strap for your purse. You have the two pieces of fabric we cut out earlier. I want you to adjoin them at one end to make a longer handle for your purse. So let's sew those on the machine quickly. Remember to go back over it and forward. Take some scissors and cut it. Now I want you to take those straps, you're going to have two of these, and we're going to take our wire and put it in between them. I have a piece of twenty-four gage florist wire that I've cut the same size as my strap. I'm going to take a piece of scotch tape and we're going to place that along here just to hold the wire in while we are sewing because the wire's going to want to bend. So just cut a couple of pieces of tape. As you can see, it's okay if it pulls up like that. You just want to get this tape on there to secure your wire. As you can see this wire's just a little bit long, so I'm going to cut that. Okay, now I'm going to place my other piece of fabric on top of this, and I'm going to take a pin and pin it. And you can pin it a couple of times along to keep those two pieces of fabric together. And then we're going to sew all the way around all four sides. Now we're going to sew around all four edges of the strap. Remember to go all the way around. You want the foot of your guide to be right next to the edge of the fabric. Okay, I'm coming up on a pin and I don't want my needle to run over that pin, so you can stop your machine and take the pins out and just continue on until you're done."
