"Hi, this is Stephanie. I am going to talk about how to choose colors for your scrapbook pages. Probably the best way to choose a color is to look at your picture, and draw the colors that are from there. If your person is wearing a bright orange shirt, it's just not going to look good if you're doing a green layout, because all you are going to see is that glaring orange shirt. You can always buy a color-wheel and try to get complimentary colors on the color-wheel. You can always go monochromatic, which monochromatic means its the same color but different tones. For example, here is this photo of my nephew. What I tried to look at, you can get a different look from whatever color you choose. For example, if I went with this dark part of his shorts, this is how the color would look. It kind of pops off the photo and looks good. If I decide to go with the lighter color of his shorts, this is how it looks. I feel like that kind of washes it out. You don't quite get to see the same look that you did when it was darker. I can look at the sand, and maybe go for that color, and to see what kind of look. Whatever pleases your eye is what you should do. You can also matte it in 2 different colors, use a couple different colors and experiment to see what you like. It all depends. If you still can't get the colors that you want to work with your photos, you can always convert your photos to black and white. Here is one that I did where the girl was wearing kind of a maroon shirt, and his was more navy blue. And it just really clashed. What I did was I converted the picture to black and white. Then I could use whatever color I wanted to. It made an effective layout that way, because I didn't have to look at just the color. Going with other colors, here's one that I kind of pulled the colors from her shirt. They are not exactly the same, but it still works because it's the monochromatic kind of tones where it's the same sort of blue. It's not a clashing blue, not a clashing green. It's just a very simple match. You can make whatever color you choose just brings out the whimsy. This is the whimsy of my nephew playing in these balls. It's brought out because I used nice bright fun colors. So whatever colors you choose, they are going to kind of bring out the mood of your scrapbook. "
