"I'm Sue Rose with Expert Village and today we're working on our shell stitch Afghan. We've done the first part of row 4 where we have done 4 double chains in each double chain and in each space, then we did that 4 times and we did at the top of our shell we did 3 double chains and we're starting here and we're going to do a double chain in this space. That's 1 and in that double chain, so that's 1 with the double chain and then in the next space, that's 2 and 2 and in the next space it's 3 and 3 and in the next space it's 4 and 4. Then we go in chain 1 and then we do 1 single chain in the 3 double chains here, right in the center of that. So just pick up and do 1 single chain there and then chain 1 and skip the next space and go back and start in this chain, double chain with your same pattern, double chain 1 and double chain in the next space, double chain 2, double chain in the next space, double chain 3 and in the next space double chain 4 and in the next space, then you are at the top of your shell. You want to do 3 double chains in the next stitch; 1, 2, 3 and you'll go to the next space and do your double chain there and continue this all the way across with the chain 1 until you get to the next space after you've gone all the way through here and you will continue this pattern all the way across that you've self stitched. So it now looks something like this. Stay tuned for row 5."
