"I'm Sue Rose with Expert Village and today we're working on our shell stitch afghan. We have done, chained on 164 stitches and done row one with our chain 5 stitches and we are on row two. And to start on row two you chain three stitches and then you turn. You double chain in the same stitch that you chained three. So that's through once, through twice and through the third time. Then you chain three stitches again. You skip the next chain three space and you single chain in the next chain five space. Then you do nine double chains in the next chain five space. I had to tie some yarn on here. So I go through, I wrap my yarn around and I go through and I go one, that's one, two, three, four, wrap it around, five through once, two tries, wrap it around underneath. Through one, through two through six, wrap it around, through seven, through eight and through nine. Sometimes it's a little confusing when you have the ends tied on but you will weave them in when you finish your afghan. So I've done my first part of the shell stitch, which should look like this. Then I single chain through the next chain five space and then I chain three. And then I double chain into the next chain, skip three, skip this space, the chain five space, skip the next chain space and double three in the next space. Watch our next segment. Part two of row two of the shell stitch afghan."
