"Hi I'm Sue Rose for Expert Village we are working on a shell afghan today and I've done my chaining and now I'm working on still continuing on row number one. The pattern is again you single chain in the second chain from the hook you chain 3 you do another single chain and chain 5 skipping 2 spaces, chain one or connect your chain here and I will go back and show you. I've chained 5 here I'm skipping 3 chains here I'm going in the next and pulling a single chain, I'm chaining 5 stitches again and I'm skipping 2 stitches 1 2 stitches. So that I have here a pattern of 1 2 3 and this is the pattern that will make my shell stitch and I will continue this across I will do 3 stitches, I will skip the next 2 stitches and single chain in the next one. And I will chain 3 more stitches skip 2 stitches and single chain in the next one so my pattern is single chain, chain 3 skip 2 single chain, chain 5 skip 3 single chain, chain 5 skip 2 single chain chain 3 single chain, chain 3 and then I start all over again with the chain 5 continue this all the way across the 164 rows of your afghan, stay tune for the next step which is row 2 of our shell afghan."
