"The next thing I am going to do is show you a little bit about how silver bezel can be used in a process called fuming. This is a piece of silver bezel that remember I cut with regular scissors and what I am going to do is adhere this piece of silver bezel to the end of a Pyrex rod. Pyrex is a hard glass remember so it heats a lot more slowly than the soft glass that I usually work with. What I am going to do is heat the end of this Pyrex rod until it is as drippy as possible. Now you see me holding this glass very close to the head of the torch. You do not want to do this with your normal soft glasses. The only reason I am doing this is because this is the glass that is a little bit harder and heats a little more slowly. Now that I have it to a molten state I am going to take this piece of silver bezel and apply it to the top. You can see the piece of silver sticking out of the top of there and what you are going to do is melt it slowly so it melts and forms a little glob of silver, it almost looks like a little glob of mercury on top of the Pyrex and we are going to use this in a technique later in a process called fuming that is going to change the overall appearance of our glass.
