"Hi we're going to talk now a little bit about automobile expenses because there are a lot of folks out there particularly construction workers who can deduct traveling away from home for business. If your hauling heavy tools or you have to travel outside of your normal area of employment you can deduct presently 44 1/2 cents a mile for your travel to and from your job site. Your job must be temporarily rather than indifferent and that is measured by rather or not the job last for less than 1 year, this is long been the standard that the IRS has held and there are some exceptions but the 1 year rule generally applies. Keep your records from when you have you oil change and any repair documents that's the best way to keep track of the total mileage. A daily log should be kept but if your neglect keep those repair record cause that's going to help you, thank you."
