" Hi! I’m Stephany from Stephany’s Simply Sewing on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’d like to show you an easy way to mark where your buttons go once you’ve made your buttonholes. What I like to do is go ahead and lap. We’ve got our buttonhole and it’s been cut, and I lap the appropriate amount making sure that I have my cuff in this case where I want it to be. I then take pin and insert it straight down, avoiding your fingers of course, through my cut buttonhole into my lower fabric of the cuff. On the inside, I’ve kind of got the pin pinched between my fingers so that when I pull the cuff off like that, I have a pin where I should sew my button. That is how you find out where just to put those buttons. "
