" Hello! I’m Stephany from Stephany’s Simply Sewing on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’d like to show you how we cut our buttonholes. There are a lot of different things that you can use that are on the market to cut a buttonhole, but I rely on a good sharp small scissors. We’ve already made our buttonhole and what I’m going to do is fold my button hole like this. Taking my sharp scissors, I’m going to take a small snip. Kind of like what we did on a piece of paper to cut out the middle. Then I’m going to insert my scissors into that small slit and cut up to the stitching line, rotate my buttonhole, and then cut on the other side. You will see some little extra threads that are there. And as you garment is washed, those will come out and fray out like they’re supposed to. That is how you cut your buttonholes. "
