Hello! I’m Stephany from Stephany’s Simply Sewing. We’re getting ready to put our cuff onto our sleeve. We’ve prepared our sleeve in with our pleats and our sleeve continuous lap. We’ve also sewn our seam for our sleeve. We now need to take our cuff that we’ve already sewn together and pin it to the sleeve. We’re going to match our notches and we’re going to pin around our sleeve. The other end of our continuous lap is going to match at the edge of the cuff like this. Notice that on your overlapping part, your continuous lap is folded to the inside. You’re going to have a part where you’re going to have to ease your sleeve in. And what we’re going to do when we ease our sleeve is that little stabilization stitches that we used to baste our pleats down, we may use to ease or gather the cuff into the sleeve, or gather the sleeve into the cuff rather. Once we’ve pinned this down, we’re going to go ahead and stitch along this edge 5/8 of an inch from our sleeve edge. Let’s go ahead and do that now. While you’re stitching you’re going to want to be sure that your pleats don’t get folded accidentally so you end up with an extra cut. It’s not a disaster, but it does make a little extra fullness when you don’t really want that fullness. There you go. We have attached our cuff to our sleeve.
