"This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. We have pressed our seam at the bottom edge of the valance now. It is time to sew the side seams. What I would do now that we have the edge pressed in there I'm going to go ahead and reverse the valance for now and fold it kind of backwards right on the line that I just pressed. That is where we would be with our bottom edge that we are going to use and line up the side seams. Pin it. I would be going around the sewing machine to sew the seam. Two pins would do it and then I would do the same thing with the other side in a moment. But let's sew this one for now. We would use our standard half inch seam allowance. Go straight down the edge. Then continue on the other side pinning and sewing on the same manner. That is all there is for sewing the side seams."
