" Hi! I’m Stephany of Stephany’s Simply Sewing on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’d like to talk to you a little about what you will find inside your pattern envelope. We’ve already checked the back of our envelope and have the information that we need there, and chances are we’re at home getting ready to jump in to a very exciting adventure. Once you open up your pattern, you’re going to find a set of directions as well as your pattern pieces. I can almost guaranty you when you open the pattern pieces, they’re not going to fit back in the envelope. Some of the important things for you to consider when you’re looking at your pattern and the directions on the inside is which picture you’re going to make, which garment. In my case, I’m going to make garment A, this shirt. When I look at my instruction envelope, I’m going to look for the pattern pieces I will need for garment A. Right here it will show you, shirt A and shirt B, which is on the front of my envelope. It tells me which pieces. It says use pieces 1, 2, 3 and it goes on to say which pieces I will need. I also need to make a choice as to weather I want to put these pockets on or not, those are optional choices. The next thing I will want to do is look through my pattern pieces, and because this is a multi-sized pattern, I have different ones. The pattern pieces are numbered. For example, this will be piece 11. Once I have my pattern pieces selected, I will want to smooth them out and press them so that I can have a nice smooth pattern without wrinkles. That enables me to pin the pattern down and not have distorted pieces. That is what you will find inside your pattern envelope. "
