"This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. Today we would be talking about curtain styles. The type of curtains that you may want to chose for your home like drapers, full length draperies like these. Sometime a window might be more suited to shorter curtain called a valance. Valances can come in different styles like pleaded valances or a gather valance. Different styles of windows call for differ net style of window treatment. The one that we would be working with today is called just a straight valance with a center pleat that we would be using to staple to board. This board which is just about 2 inches on either side of the window that we would be using it for. Fabrics that you might want to consider for this project if you where doing it for maybe a teenagers room or a little boys room you may want to think about using something like this denim. For a little girls room or maybe for a kitchen or a breakfast nook you may want to use something like this pretty colors. Other choses you could be as bright as you want to be or a floral pattern or as be as bright as you like to be. These are just some of the options that you might want to think about when considering what type of curtain or window treatment that you would like to use for your home."
