Pinning & Sewing Pockets to Seat Cover

"Hi, this is Vicki Walker from Expert Village. Today for the purpose of our demonstration on how to make a butterfly chair cover, we have prepare the upper and the lower sections of the chair cover. We finished the edges with a flat felled seam and I prepared the pocket sections that would be hooking the chair to the chair cover to the frame that we would be using. We would just demonstrate in a future clip. For now we need to pin the pocket sections to the chair cover, matching the notches that we have cut out earlier when we cut our pattern out. I would pin that to get it ready to sew. I would be doing this 4 times the top 2 section and the 2 lower sections. I'm ready to sew once again I'm using a 5/8 inch seam allowance according to the instruction to the seam allowance. Reinforcing this edge you want to make sure that the pocket pieces don't detached from the main section of the seat cover once we start using it. So I'm reinforcing that edge really closely. I'm sewing the 5/8 inch seam allowance. I'm moving those pins so they would not get broken by the sewing machine needle. I would continue around the curve here and this one is almost done. I would continue on and do the same thing for the other 3 corners. That completes sewing on the pockets. In the next section, the next clip we would be talking about completing the edges of the seam all the way around, we would be back to complete that seam in a moment."
